ahem

I had a small dog for nine years. He was my best friend, we did things exactly our way until his very final days, and offered one another unconditional comfort and affection.

I'm just crazy enough to believe that it was the healthiest relationship I ever had.

I'm self-aware enough to understand that is a sad thing. at this age.

But I'll tell no more of that story today because I'm due for a meeting in 20 minutes and starting a cry right now would be counter-productive.

In place of "how are you doing" I've started asking people "what are you making" because I've found that gets closer to the heart of things. So I'll give you a quick rundown on that.

  1. I am making bow ties for days when I want to dress fancy at work
  2. I am printing planters and putting them all over the compound hoping they can be a source of cheer for some of us
  3. I have decided that I want to befriend a crow, so now I need to engineer a platform that will enable our negotiations and eventual discourse
  4. I'm taking time lapse videos of partially cloudy days
  5. I am nursing an orchid that I overwatered back to health
And a few other things that I can't remember right now.

Today I'm dressed like I have a grudge. I even broke out the engineer boots.

Maybe I'll see you later or maybe you'll just see me.
